Ralam is a beautiful glacier located in Munsiyari tehsil of Pithoragarh district within Kumaon region of the hill state of Uttarakhand in India.
This magnificent glacier is situated at an elevation of 2, 290 meters above the sea level near Ralam Dhura at Ralam Khal. Glaciological features of Ralam are divided into two - Upper Ralam and Lower Ralam.
Interestingly, three other glaciers meet Ralam glacier. They are kalabaland, sutela and yangchar. The Ralam glacier lies at the base of the great Himalayan wall.
Trek to Ralam Glacier (50 Km)
The fascinating trek to Ralam glacier is not an easy task. You must keep aside at least 8-10 days exclusively for the entire trek to this mighty Himalayan glacier. The maximum altitude of this trek would be 3, 900 meters above the sea level. Ralam glacier is about a 50 Km trek from Munsiyari. During the trek from Munsiyari to Ralam, some of the important destinations that you will stop over at are Lilam, Panton and Sapa-Odiyar. Ralam village is also not far from Sapa-odiyar. From Ralam village, the glacier is about 15 km trek.

By road, the base camp of Munsiyari is well connected with major destinations like Delhi (612 Km), Nainital (288 Km) and Kathgodam (261 Km).
